WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SENIOR SERVICES?

Mahoning County residents who are 60 years of age or older and meet income guidelines may take advantage of Senior Services. To enroll, visit the MYCAP offices at 1001 Federal Plaza East, Suite 200 in downtown Youngstown. Be sure to bring with you:
  1. Proof of age
  2. Your Social Security card
  3. A photo I.D.
  4. Proof of income

WHAT KIND OF SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO SENIORS?

MYCAP offers a centralized service to help Mahoning County seniors resolve the many problems they face. Our staff works with seniors on a daily basis to make sure their needs are met.

Among the services we provide are:

  • Home visits for the homebound
  • Assistance with energy, food and clothing needs
  • Nutritional information
  • Problem-solving assistance
  • Golden Buckeye Card sign-up
  • Links to senior organizations
  • Direct referrals to other community resources
In addition, transportation services are provided through Dial-A-Ride for trips to medical appointments, social service agencies and community events.

Finally, MYCAP regularly sponsors special events for seniors such as dances, picnics and other outings. For those seniors who wish to give back to the community, volunteer opportunities are available. For more information email: vvukasinovich@my-cap.org
