WIC Program

(Women, Infants and Children)

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE WIC PROGRAM?

You are eligible for WIC if you:

  • are pregnant, or
  • are postpartum, or
  • are breastfeeding a baby, or
  • are a parent of a newborn, infant or child up to 5 years old, and
  • meet income and residency requirements, and
  • are determined to be a medical or nutritional risk by WIC health professionals

HOW CAN WIC HELP ME AND MY CHILDREN?

Good nutrition is very important to pregnant women and young children. WIC can help by providing:

  • coupons that allow you to buy nutritional foods at no cost
  • nutrition counseling for you and your children
  • breastfeeding education and support
  • referrals for health care
WIC coupons enable you to buy milk, eggs, cheese, fruit juice, cereal, peanut butter and dried beans at no cost. You can use the money you save on these items to purchase other nutritional foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and baby food.

HOW CAN I SIGN UP FOR WIC?

There are WIC Clinics located throughout Mahoning County. Call our Main Clinic at (330) 747-5661, (330) 938-6427 in Sebring, or (800) 223-6376 (outlying areas) to find the clinic nearest you.

When you visit a WIC Clinic for the first time, you'll need to bring the following items with you:

  • Identification
